De Struise Brouwers | Tsjeeses

Tsjeeses is a jolly, blond winter ale with a fluffy white cap. Its aroma is elegant, with hints of fruit, spices, refreshing herbs, and noble hops. The taste is robust, very complex, and quite dry for its style. This warming ale is our gift to you for the holidays. Enjoy! (Source: Extracted from the beer's label.)

  • Beer: Tsjeeses
  • Style: Belgian Golden Strong Ale (25C. Belgian Golden Strong Ale)
  • ABV: 10%
  • IBU: 35
  • Brewery:
  • Look: copper color, semi-turbid, with a good off-white head formation that leaves marks on the glass;
  • Aroma: the aroma is mostly of sugary notes, reminding of caramel and cane sugar. There is also some strong presence of dried fruit notes as well. At last, there is some spiciness, reminding of clove and white pepper;
  • Taste: its taste follows the aroma quite closely, bringing caramel and dried fruits (peach and apricot, mostly). However, the spiciness isn’t present here.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-high body, medium-high carbonation and a not dry and long finish;
  • Overall: Good beer. For a beer that features itself as a Christmas beer, I thought that it would have more condiments. But interesting, anyway.
