Japas Cervejaria | Kawaii

Japas Cervejaria | Kawaii

It's impossible to think in Japan without reminding of so many "cute" characters from mangas and animes. And there, all this cuteness has a name: Kawaii. Besides that, it's a culture that became a lifestyle with so many adepts around the world and that now became inspiration to our beer. It also means something innocent, pure, but not exclusively sweet, that's why we created a Smoothie NE IPA, with a light bitterness, tasty, velvety and with a touch of blackberry and raspberry. • Beer: Kawaii
  • Style: New England IPA (21B. Specialty IPA: New England IPA)
  • ABV: 6.4%
  • IBU: 60
  • Brewery:
  • Look: light pink color, semiturbid, with a good white head formation that leaves marks on the glass;
  • Aroma: herbal aroma is present in the foreground. As the beer heats on the glass, a light sweet, fruity aroma is perceived, reminding of blackberry candy;
  • Taste: strong presence of floral and herbal notes. A round, light-to-medium intensity, assertive bitterness is present.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation and a dry and short finish;
  • Overall: Good New England IPA. I confess that I was expecting a higher fruit presence (both because of the can art and the fruit additions).
This beer review was made by somebody which is studying every day to be a better beer drinker but, despite that, isn't a specialist or a beer sommelier. In advance, pardon for any gaffe. If you have any corrections or suggestions, please mail me.
