Sensorial reviews of the beers I tried at home, which by no means I intend for them to be treated as professional. They are more like beer tasting and english writing exercises.

Cervejaria Hocus Pocus | Day Tripper

Cervejaria Hocus Pocus | Day Tripper

Day Tripper is a NE IPA with the experimental hop HBC 472. This hop, at first, has a similar profile with other hops that are already well known in IPAs, with citric shades of grapefruit and lemon zest which, by itself, would make a beautiful and fresh beer, ideal to be tasted in sunny days. However, when used in almost irresponsibly big amounts, the beer starts to develop a fruity and lightly woody character, which looks like as if we put a dense coconut liquor for some months in Bourbon Whisky barrels.

Alenda Weisse | Leichte-Weisse

Alenda Weisse | Leichte-Weisse

The summer is a time of the year that we like a lot. With longer days and higher temperatures, it’s the ideal season for the sports practice on open air. Our preferred sports are swimming and cycling, physical activities that burn lots of calories and mineral salts. For the reposition of these minerals, there’s nothing better than a fresh, non-pasteurized, artesanally produced beer. And it was with that thought that we created Alenda Leichte-Weisse, a low ABV Weissbier that was brewed according to the traditional methods used by the best Bavaria breweries, which are: decoction, fermentation on open tanks (Dekoktionsverfahren und Gärung im offenen Bottich) and bottle refermentation.
