Salvador Brewing Co. | Cookie de Chocolate

A cup of coffee with a chocolate cookie? The harmony between these two flavors can be perceived in each sip of Cookie de Chocolate Pastry Stout. For the brewing of this recipe, coffee, cacao, vanilla and hazelnut were used to achieve the characteristic cookie aroma. A dessert that, certainly, replaces with mastery the inspiration combo: coffee and cookie. (Source: Loosely translated from the beer's label.)

  • Beer: Cookie de Chocolate
  • Style: Pastry Stout (30A. Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer - 20C. Imperial Stout with cacao nibs, vanilla beans and hazelnut)
  • ABV: 11%
  • IBU: 60
  • Brewery:
  • Look: black color, turbid, with a low brown head formation;
  • Aroma: very sweet aroma, bringing a mix of vanilla and chocolate notes. In the background, light roasty notes were present as well. As the beer heated on the glass, cookie, wafer-like notes, appeared.
  • Taste: its taste starts as sweet as in the aroma, but on its taste there’s a higher presence of roasty, coffee-like notes to balance the sweetness that comes from the chocolate and vanilla notes. The end of the sip leaves a light coffee-like note, along with a low to medium alcohol warming and a hint of vanilla;
  • Mouthfeel: Full body, medium carbonation and a sweet and long finish;
  • Overall: Very interesting and very good beer from Salvador. I`ll need to harmonize it with its inspiration, hoping to achieve an even better experience, if possible. Replaces a dessert, without a doubt.
