Salvador Brewing Co. | Macau #2 Ultra Coffee

Salvador Brewing Co. | Macau #2 Ultra Coffee

"Our restlessness moves us! Our MACAU, in an ULTRA COFFEE version, counting with the support of Marcelo Franck from Franck's Ultra Coffee. This Milk Stout has the Topázio variety coffee on its recipe, matured in whiskey barrels and roasted by the National Roasting Vice-Champion, Eduardo Escorsin. With a roast profile that extracted the utmost max of the coffee development without compromising the maturing process in the whiskey barrel, we completed the feast by adding cinnamon sticks. The result is (at least) curious? Come to the Front and enlist yourself to taste the MACAU #2. (Source: Loosely translated from the beer's label.)

  • Beer: Macau #2 Ultra Coffee
  • Style: Russian Imperial Stout (30A. Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer - 16A. Sweet Stout with coffee and cinnamon)
  • ABV: 8.0%
  • IBU: 40
  • Brewery:
  • Look: black color, turbid, with a low light brown head formation that leaves marks on the glass;
  • Aroma: it presents a combination of coffee and cinnamon notes, with roasted malt notes on the background;
  • Taste: the start of the sip brings a mix of sweet, malty notes and cinnamon notes. But, right after that, coffee notes dominates the beer taste. At the end of the sip, roasted malt notes are noticeable, lasting in the aftertaste, along with light, booze-like notes;
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-high body, medium carbonation and a sweet and long finish;
  • Overall: Very good beer by Salvador, being a coffee beer with a great drinkability. One of my favorites from them.
