Salvador Brewing Co. | Tomahawk Double NE IPA

Salvador Brewing Co. | Tomahawk Double NE IPA

Tomahawk Double New England IPA is a fucking explosion: an explosion of flavors and aromas. Loaded with a high amount of hops and a velvety body that has an intense citric and fruity flavor. An authentic hopped bomb that will disturb the most restless minds. (Source: Loosely translated from the beer's label.)

  • Beer: Tomahawk Double NE IPA
  • Style: Double New England IPA (21B. Specialty IPA: double-strenght New England IPA)
  • ABV: 8%
  • IBU: 74
  • Brewery:
  • Look: yellow color, turbid, with a good white head formation;
  • Aroma: very fruity aroma, bringing remembrance of orange, peach and grapefruit. In a lower level, resinous notes can be perceived as well.
  • Taste: its taste starts as fruity as on the aroma, but there’s a stronger presence of citric fruits, like orange, grapefruit and lemon. In a lower level, there’s a presence of peach notes as well. The resinous notes also appear here, in a higher level than the aroma.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-high body, medium-high carbonation and a dry but long finish. Fluffy, silk-like;
  • Overall: It’s a known fact that hoppy beers have to be drank the freshest possible, and the fact that Salvador Brewing Co. is located in my city is one of the facts that helps to make me think that Tomahawk is one of the best IPAs that I drank so far. Besides the freshness, lots of hops were skillfully inserted in a very appropriate malt bill, resulting in a hop explosion. Try it if you find it!
