Suricato Ales + Overhop Brewing Co. | Ugly Duckling

The scenario couldn't be better. End of the 2017 Blumenau Festival. From a simple nightcap outside of the event pavillion, the project of a collaborative beer was born. We wanted to make an impact not just on its flavor, but also on its aroma and appearance. The result was a Catharina Sour with acai, strawberry and a generous Dry Hopping. • Beer: Ugly Duckling
  • Style: Catharina Sour (X4. Catharina Sour)
  • ABV: 4.0%
  • IBU: 4
  • Brewery:
  • Look: burgundy color, clear, with no formation of head;
  • Aroma: very present strawberry notes can be perceived. Light earthy notes, as well as light lactic acidity notes are present in the background. Light acai notes appeared as the beer heated on the glass.
  • Taste: very acidic right from the start of the sip. There is a strong presence of strawberry notes, but without its sweetness. The end of the sip leaves a light malty, grainy notes presence.
  • Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium body, medium-high carbonation and a dry and short finish;
  • Overall: Very good sour ale, with a powerful acidity punch. Also, really beautiful color.
